HAVE YOU EVER CONSIDERED THIS QUESTION?
Can you say without any doubt that you would spend eternity in Heaven when you die?
That may appear to be a question that is impossible for any one to answer, but consider this verse from the Bible: “These things have I written unto you . . . that ye may know that ye have eternal life . . .” (1 John 5:13) What is eternal life? How can one know that he or she has it?
Eternal life means to live with God in Heaven forever. It is the opposite of everlasting punishment in Hell.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Eternal life comes only through the Lord Jesus Christ.
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6
Eternal life is a gift that must be received, not worked for.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: It is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
Eternal life is received by understanding and believing what God has said and asking Him to save you from your sins.
You must understand and believe the following four things that God has said is true of you:
1. You have sinned against God’s holy law.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
2. Your sin must be punished and paid for.
“For the wages of sin is death…” Romans 6:23
3. You cannot do anything to pay for your sins or save yourself.
“Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ… For by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” Galatians 2:16
4. Only the Lord Jesus Christ is able to save you from your sins and judgment.
” Neither is there salvation in any other [person, religion, way, etc.] : for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on Him.” John 3:36
What should you do?
“That if thou shalt confess with they mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
Would you call upon the Savior now?
Please pray to God a sincere prayer such as this:
” Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve to be punished in hell for my sin. I know that I cannot save myself from my sins. Lord, I believe that you died on the cross for my sins and took the place for my punishment. Right now, as best as I know how, I am asking you to forgive me of my sins. Dear Lord Jesus, please come into my life and save me from judgment and give me a home in heaven. By faith I accept your gift of eternal life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
