It has been a very busy summer for Rock Lake Baptist Church. We started off with a baptism for one of the men that had been visiting our church with his wife and as they joined the church for several months. What a privilege to welcome another new couple into our fellowship! Right away we had a wonderful VBS, Giddyup Junction, with the help of a youth group mission team from Faith Baptist Church of Davison, Michigan. It was a joy to get to know Pastor Eric and all the team members as we worked together to reach boys and girls from our community with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our intern, James Rossiter and his new bride, Anna, stepped in to a large responsibility as I had an unexpected knee surgery as soon as VBS was over. Our church benefited from his preaching for several Sundays as the recovery progressed. We thank the Lord for providing for us in this way! Our 49th anniversary celebration in June was blessed with decent weather and we ate together and enjoyed fellowship at Upper Rock Lake Park following our morning service on Father’s Day. The Lord has brought several visitors our way during the summer months, and we are trusting him to continue adding to our membership as He sees fit. Looking forward to the fall months, we are preparing for a new children’s program on Wednesday evenings and are excited to welcome the college students back into our ministry, as well. In 2020 we will be celebrating our 50th anniversary as a church in Lake Mills, and are beginning to plan ways to make it a very special year, not just looking back to what has been done, but to anticipate what the Lord may have in store for us during the next 50 years!-Pastor Stroup
